Steelrising Wiki

Aegis is a female robot and the protagonist of Steelrising. Aegis is introduced by friend and Queen advisor Gabrielle de Polignac at the beginning of the game as the only non-hostile automaton.

Aegis is a former dancer-automaton and becomes the bodyguard of Queen Marie Antoinette during the French Revolution. Her mission is to put an end to the massacres carried out in Paris by the robot army of King Louis XVI. She was created by Eugène de Vaucanson the famous automate maker for his daughter Athénaïs de Vaucanson as a birthday present.

Customization[]

In a video presentation from May 20, 2022, the developers showed how some of Aegis' parts can be customized in the game. The players receive the opportunity to change the materials of her body, her wig and her face. Aegis can be customized further with different clothing styles. Please see more in section "Equipment".

Character classes[]

Starting classes:

Equipment[]

There are chests hidden in the levels, that can be looted and reward Aegis with all kinds of items. Aegis also can use the Boutique in the Vestals to buy some of the clothing items/Armour.

Weapons[]

According to the Playstation developer blog entry from May 23, 2022, Aegis is able to use 9 types of weapons. Most notable are probably her hand fans, which can be used as a shield to protect herself. Promotional material also shows her with a court sword and describes how the weapons are also integrated into her body.

To support her origin as a dancer-automaton, the developers also gave Aegis acrobatic abilities, which can be used in battle but also for exploration.
