Anima Essence on the body of a defeated Automat.
Anima Essence is the currency of Steelrising. It is used to upgrade Aegis's stats, combined with materials to upgrade her weapons and modules, and spent directly to purchase items in the Boutique. It is mainly obtained by killing enemies and appears as a blue flame on their corpses.
Leveling Engineering improves Aegis's Loot Multiplier, which increases the Anima Essence gained from killing enemies. The Avarice Module can be purchased from the Boutique and slightly increases the Anima Essence gained from killing enemies.
When Aegis dies, she drops all of her Anima Essence. If she can return to this spot without resetting the area, she can collect it again. If she dies on the way or visits a Vestal/Horseless Carriage, the area is reset and the Anima Essence is lost.
